In April of 2013, Charlie’s first show of images from his collection of Vietnam photos opened at ADX. Titled A Weather Walked In, the show of 28 images was the first display of images from the Chieu Hoi Collection in 44 years. The title of the show came from a mantra of Charlie’s—that experiences in life are like a weather walked in. The weather may be bad, the weather may be good, but one must exist within it. Such was Charlie’s approach to surviving his tour of duty in Vietnam.
Nearly 500 people attended the opening reception for A Weather Walked in at ADX; over the course of the month the images were displayed over 1,000 people visited the gallery showing.
